Thanks to a coalition of matching donors, you can double your impact for families in need!
The Story
Feeding Hope Coalition
Created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Little Bit Foundation Feeding Hope Program brings fresh and shelf-stable groceries, along with hot meals, directly to the doorsteps of students and their families dealing with food insecurity.
For families identified as the highest risk, Little Bit assesses needs on an ongoing basis and connects them with organizations that can assist them with other resources.
In its first six weeks, Feeding Hope has reached 600 individuals in St. Louis with 37,000 meals.
Local business leaders Ameren Missouri, Ascension and Kwame Building Group – along with an anonymous donor – have announced a $105,000 combined investment in the program and are asking the community to match their donation in order to reach more families in need.
“Families in our community have a lot to manage right now, and the Feeding Hope program from The Little Bit Foundation helps ease some of their burden by providing groceries and other essential household items,” said Marty Lyons, chairman and president of Ameren Missouri. “Our goal with this grant is to inspire others to join us and help make a collective impact on hunger in the St. Louis region.”
“I am a single parent who is not working due to my son’s many medical issues. Things have been particularly hard since coronavirus came and sometimes it’s hard to make sure kids eat. Because of my own health issues, I’m not able to go to food distribution sites. I do not know if people understand that the generosity of people like you help parents like me all the time and I wanted to take this time to tell you THANK YOU. I do not have the words to show how much we appreciate it, but please know that it has been a godsend.” – Parent of Central Middle School student
