Maritz Walks the Talk

“Work hard, have fun, get the job done.” We think Maritz can add one more phrase to their corporate mantra: “be the difference.” Headquartered in Fenton, the global performance improvement, travel and market research provider is not just committed to giving back to the communities where its employees live and work but to walking the talk. “We want our employees to have the opportunity to get out in the community and have a direct impact,” says Maritz Community Affairs Director Debbie Schirmer. Martiz gives its employees 12 hours per year of paid time off to “serve and share a bit of the Maritz culture with others,” she says.

In 2017, 21 groups made up of 193 Maritz employees volunteered at the Little Bit warehouse and our 1-2-3 Read! book fairs. Schirmer says Maritz is a huge proponent of education and hopes to get more employees involved in Little Bit’s literacy programming. “It makes perfect sense to support a like-minded organization with a similar mission.”
