ST. LOUIS, MO, Mar. 11, 2020.
The Little Bit Foundation announced that it has received the Ameren Corporate Citizen Award as part of the 7th Annual Arcus Awards, presented by the St. Louis Regional Chamber. Ten award winners were selected from among hundreds of nominations for companies and organizations that are inspiring a greater St. Louis. The Ameren Corporate Citizen Award recognizes those “enhancing the quality of life and making positive changes that impact St. Louisans across the social, cultural and economic spectrum,” according to the Regional Chamber.
“The Little Bit Foundation is honored to be recognized in this way and to be part of a community so committed to a better tomorrow for all,” says Rosemary Hanley, CEO and Co-Founder. “We congratulate all of the honorees and accept this award on behalf of the hundreds of Little Bit volunteers, partners and supporters that share a desire to see our students happy, healthy and prepared to reach for their dreams.”
Little Bit began in 2001 when Hanley and her co-founder became aware of the many unmet needs in St. Louis schools and communities that impact student success. Today, the nonprofit organization is embedded in 42 school communities, working directly with 14,000 under-resourced students (or 25% of the estimated children and youth living in poverty in the Greater St. Louis region) across every grade level. Programs are provided – several in collaboration with other nonprofits – that address nutrition, healthcare, clothing and other basic needs, as well as enrich the learning environment, such as STEM and career planning.
The Little Bit Foundation has expanded its service reach by an average annual rate of 20% – which includes the adoption of the entire Riverview Gardens School District – and has longstanding corporate and community partnerships that support the development and futures of St. Louis children and youth.
